Ep 82: Do *Less* Laundry During Postpartum

  • 1 min read

Hey Lady! A yearish ago, my aunt sent me 14 text messages about a book that had "revolutionized" the way she did laundry. I had no idea laundry was something you could revolutionize, until what I read in the book she recommended took the smell out of my husband's most-loved workout shirt. In this episode, I summarize the top tips for postpartum from Patric Richardson's book Laundry Love.

BONUS: (by which I mean, things I thought of after or forgot to say while recording :))

  • Richardson recommends washing in WARM water to get your clothes their cleanest

  • Richardson recommends using your washing machine's FASTEST cycle for the least wear and tear on your clothes

  • To do less laundry, teach those nearest and dearest to you to help out. Starting during my third trimester with baby #5, my 8 and 9 year old took over the folding and putting away of our family's laundry. That's freed up needed time and energy for the things only I can do (exhibit A: feeding their sister :))
