Ep 114 Postpartum is *the time* to clean your room

Lady, I know you've got a few things vying for your time and attention: feeding your baby, changing your baby's diaper, getting your baby to sleep, getting yourself to sleep, taking care of older children if you have them, the list goes on and on. If there's a spare minute, or if you're expecting a guest and create a minute out of thin air, it's probably going to clean the living room, right? And then here I come, inviting you to prioritize keeping your bedroom clean and cozy. Why? Why?!?!

It's because of what your bedroom represents, in terms of your marriage relationship as the foundation of your family and in terms of being a sanctuary where you can truly exhale. This is something I learned from Leila Lawler in her Summa Domestica trilogy. While the other areas of your home may be more highly trafficked, and certainly more public-facing, in this episode I make the case for showing your room a little love first, starting by asking the basic question "What's the next thing I can do to make this room a little more inviting?" What would make your room feel like a place you could relax in?

Hey Lady!

What if you could love who you become during postpartum? What if postpartum wasn't a default time, but a window of opportunity, an experience you could enter into on purpose? Here, you'll find articles I've written for various outlets, exploring the answers to these questions.

Let the posts come to you.
